NCERT SATHEE Portal Registration: The National Council Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched a new initiative, the self Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exam (SATHEE) scheme, aimed at helping students prepare for competitive exams like engineering (JEE) Medical (NEET) and government service (CSC) at no cost. This programme, designed to support students from diverse backgrounds, especially those in remote and rural areas, provides high quality learning resources, expert mentorship and self assessment tools.
The initiative, launched in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, comes at a time when private coaching institute have become too expensive for many students.
What is the SATHEE Portal?
The “SATHEE” portal is a completely online platform that provides students access to free learning resources, video lectures, sample exams, and professional coaching while preparing for competitive exams. It seeks to eliminate dependency on expensive coaching institutes and offers a diverse selection of services for children from all backgrounds.
The free coaching initiative is part of the government’s larger efforts to guarantee equal access to education for all as outlined in the national education policy (NEP 2020). The government aims to promote equal educational opportunities and bridge the gap for children across the country by providing free, easily accessible preparatory resource through the Saathi portal. According to media source, more than 4.37 lakh students have already enrolled to avail the scheme.

The platform aims to be user friendly reduce dependency on expensive coaching centres and provide a wide range of resources for students from all backgrounds. It has a variety of content, including over 60, 000 questions and 10000 hours of video lectures from experts at institute like IITs and AIIMS. How the Sathee Scheme Works
After registering on the NCERT Sathee portal students can choose the field they are preparing for engineering, medical or SSC. They will then have access to video solutions, books based on NCERT syllabi, live classes and mentoring. The teaching happens online via the portal, as well as throat television broadcasts on various DTH channels, expanding AIDS reach to areas with limited internet connectivity.
